Role and Responsibilities
The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:
- Direct others on work activities and organize scheduling of resources.
- Attend all inspections as required
- Collaborate with foremen, mechanical superintendent and project manager to complete a 3 week lookahead
- Evaluate and management skill set and abilities of subordinates
- Communicate with Customers, Owners’ reps, trade partners and subcontractors
- Read complex blue prints and equipment packaging lists for assembly.
- Solve complex job related problems or bring solutions to the project manager and/or director of operations.
- Order material
- Participate in selecting and interviewing field staff
- Perform performance review for employees on the project
- Follow, implement and enforce all safety policies and procedures
- Liaison with client representatives.
- Attend all project meetings.
- Perform safety talks and keep check-in sheets.
- Maintain tool inspection reports.
- Submit employees’ (permanent and temporary) time to the office.
- Perform performance reviews for employees on the project.
- Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, and some weekends)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have reliable form of communication
- Must show up on time in the appropriate attire and professionally present yourself
- Minimum of 10 years experience with piping, planning and installation activities
- Minimum of 5 years managerial/supervisor experience
- Must be able to work with a variety of tools
- Ability to lead multiple crews
- Must have OSHA 30 or be able to obtain
- Extensive knowledge of pipe procedures and inspections
- Ability to read and understand schedules
- Knowledge of testing procedures
- Strong technology and communication skills
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment
- Experience in accessing, reading and complete the installation of the system from a BIM coordinated project
- Understanding and ability to maintain current, complete set of project documents, blue prints, revisions, specifications and related items
- Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of management of site logistics and contract operations, scope, obligations and exclusions
- Knowledge of all local codes, standards and equipment systems
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
