Role and Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of pipe prefabrication shop personnel, ensuring optimization of duties and compliance with schedules.
- Responsible for procurement of all materials to perform work and maintain schedule (welding rod, safety PPE, grinding disk, oxy, ace, etc)
- Conduct and maintain a safe work environment by routinely inspecting equipment and work area, and ensuring all personal within shop area are complying with safe work practices
- Direct upkeep and appearance of prefab shop
- Work with Shop Leadership team to ensure prefab schedule is met; assist in troubleshooting deviations
- Trains and manages shop personnel to meet the execution objectives of prefabrication orders
- Communicates with Shop Leadership daily, providing updates on productivity and issues
- Assist Shop Leadership in implementing and upholding shop procedures and policies
- Conduct inventory of piping and materials for prefab production
- Attend all training classes and professional development as required by MSS
- Assist in recruiting, screening, and evaluation of shop employees Review and approve completed prefab work orders
- Submit employees’ (permanent and temporary) time to the office.
- Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with piping planning and installation activities.
- Must be able to work with variety of tools.
- Have 1-5 years of experience managing projects and personnel.
- Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
- Random drug testing is required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
- Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
- Material Handling: lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 115 lbs. frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing the position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).?
Work Environment: Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places.
