Senior Logistics Manager - Charlotte NC

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business objectives to ensure optimal supply chain performance.
  • Forecast and manage logistics budgets, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory carrying costs.
  • Analyze industry trends, market conditions, and supply chain innovations to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation and trade regulations. To include safety meetings, driver performance reviews, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Forecast, schedule and publish delivery and logistic services.
  • Implement KPI dashboards, performance tracking systems and monitor logistic metrics, transportation costs and warehouse efficiency.
  • Promote the adoption of technology and automation within logistics operations.
  • Team leadership & develop a high performing logistics team.
  • Set clear performance goals, foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with procurement, planning, customer service and sales team.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to simplify problems and develop and deploy new processes.
  • Manage warehouse material transfer and signoff process. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate storage and cataloging of inventory.
  • Identify and evaluate all warehouse and logistic procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
  • Negotiate shipping and supplier costs.
  • Cultivate a team atmosphere by working with the team to achieve the company's targets and objectives.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure a safe work environment is maintained by adhering to the Company safety practices and procedures.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or related field
  • 8 – 12+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles and team management.
  • Proficient in data analytics and performance metrics for fleet utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale fleet operations (multi-site operations, or mixed-asset fleets).
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, route optimization, and cost control.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with both co-workers and customers. Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs. frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.?

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
